This mural is a personal take on Youtopia, blending different styles and ideas to imagine a better world. Realistic and abstract elements, quiet and busy moments, old memories and future dreams come together like pages of a book.

Classical still life, pixel-like shapes, photo-like images, and coloring book outlines reflect the many forces shaping our hopes for the future – memory, imagination, technology, and daily life.

Rather than depicting a perfect utopia, the mural celebrates the process of building one – out of pieces that are clear, messy, or still in progress. It suggests that utopia is not a single vision but many ideas coexisting, inviting viewers to reflect on their own vision of a better world.

Perkup consciously positions himself in the midst of today's media flow. He exposes himself to the flood and creates a field of tension between the media for the viewer through the constant acquisition of new techniques. Among other things, he addresses the history of representation, collages found analog or digital material, and creates new combinations through his playful approach.

Through Perkup's dense and humorous approach as well as his way of balancing between the facets of different media and their boundaries, one can recognize the familiar in an unfamiliar way. The spaces change as quickly as the form – ranging from 3D modeling and deliberate layering to playing with the imprecision of pixels and free associative work with color.
