Calle libre — a festival for
urban aesthetics

Yellow star with oval edges

What started as a small festival in Vienna in 2014 has now become Central Europe’s largest street art festival and evolved into a platform that is actively involved in art, cultural, and social projects locally and internationally. Over the past years, we have hosted over 100 artists and attracted over 200,000 visitors from all walks of life.

Our goal has always been to show a different side of street art, aside from the "writings" or "bombings" often identified as vandalism. Through our festival, we are able to inform a wider audience on the nature, value, and potential of street art as a form of art. Moreover, we follow a higher mission of making art accessible to all and making a case for free participation of all in public space.
