Spidertag @post City linz
Spidertag will create a conceptual work about time. In this site-specific intervention, the Spanish artist creates a symbolic landscape in which memory, perception, and temporality merge into a shared visual language. Through abstraction, reduced forms, and the coded aesthetic of his self-defined "Futuristic Primitivism," the work reflects on architecture as well as the fragile tension between past, present, and future. Each individual LED element corresponds to a unit of time.
Spidertag's work invites us to understand time not as a linear sequence, but as a layered space of experience in which memories, expectations, and present-moment perceptions are interwoven. The composition moves between archaic symbols and futuristic visions, opening up space for reflection on how we construct our reality and imagine the future.
An interactive interface invites visitors to engage with the artwork themselves, controlling part of the piece via their own smartphone.
The mural thus becomes a visual cartography of consciousness — a place where the boundaries between what is remembered, what is experienced, and what is possible begin to dissolve.
Construction
The installation is mounted onto the existing structure using reversible fixings. Aluminum rails are attached along the planned lines on the tower to hold the LED strips in place, which requires drilling into the building. Fixings are applied at an average of two drill points per running meter. All work is carried out by appropriately qualified professionals (construction company) using suitable equipment.
Power is supplied to the lighting elements via transformers connecting each color segment to the electrical grid, providing the required operating voltage of 24V. Several compact transformer boxes will be positioned along the edge of the tower for this purpose. The electrical connection work is carried out by licensed electricians, who support the artist in the technical implementation and ensure the installation meets applicable standards.
