The mural explores how perception shapes our understanding of people and their environment—and which qualities elude our immediate gaze. At the center of the mural is COINS’s signature smiley motif, which can be interpreted as a symbol of serenity, optimism, and inner contentment. It embodies a positive outlook and serves as an emotional anchor within the composition.
What is striking, however, is that this central motif remains only partially visible. Geometric shapes, abstract patterns, transparent surfaces, and graphic overlays obscure the smiley face and make it difficult to grasp its meaning directly. The figure does not stand out clearly but remains fragmented and partially hidden. It is precisely in this tension between visibility and concealment that the work reveals its meaning.

COINS is a street artist based in Vienna whose work lies at the intersection of graffiti, urban art, and contemporary painting. Over the past few years, he has made a name for himself both in public spaces and in exhibition settings. His works have been featured in numerous group exhibitions from Vienna to São Paulo, and he is also known for his energetic live-painting performances, in which the creative process itself becomes part of the artistic experience.
