Nut
Telepathy
📍Moosbruggergasse 2, 1120 Wien
The theme of this work by Nut centers on rapport and friendship. He aims to create a quiet, contemplative scene, using the tiger—an animal he favors and often depicts—as a symbol of himself, a guest from the East. The tiger leans down in a gesture of humility, unexpectedly encountering a squirrel, which represents the West and, more specifically, Vienna. The squirrel gazes back at the tiger with curiosity, capturing the feeling of a first meeting between new friends. Nut seeks to preserve this fleeting, beautiful moment within the image.
Nut
(Guangdong, China)
Nut (Ke Yuzhen), born in 2000 in Guangdong, China, began creating graffiti at 15. He distinguishes his work by reimagining traditional Chinese blue and white porcelain, making it a central symbol of his artistic identity. Influenced by global street art yet committed to expressing his own cultural roots, Nut developed a style that reflects both his heritage and contemporary aesthetics.
In 2020, after extensive research, he became the first graffiti artist in China to incorporate blue and white porcelain motifs into public art, crafting intricate, fictionalized porcelain sculptures from imagination rather than physical models. His work explores the tension between the virtual and the real, blending cultural tradition with modern street art to create a distinctive, recognizable voice.
