Calle Libre started as an initiative establishing interaction and exchange between Latin American and Austrian street art scenes through an annual festival based in Vienna — a celebration of street art, street art culture, and international connection. Over the 13 years the festival has been active, we have been honored by presence and participation of dozens of outstanding artists coming from Central and South America: Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, among others. They created murals, sculptures, installations, various printed artworks, and produced designs for the festival.
We were so excited and grateful to receive a kind invitation from Mariana Mora and Alina Cárdenas to participate in the Latin American Art & Design Festival showcasing artworks by local and visiting Latin American artists. This weekend turned into a fun and enriching opportunity to display and share works of art created by Latin American artists who have participated at the Calle Libre festival over the years: Said Dokins, Stinkfish, Gleo, Alex Senna, Elian Chali, and Paola Delfin.
Latin American Art & Design Festival was a fantastic event that brought together the Latin American community of Vienna and Europe, celebrate traditional food and dance, unique art techniques and design, and, of course, people.
