Unity through Diversity
Linda Steiner (Austria)
Vorgartenmarkt, 1020 Vienna
2024
Linda Steiner's mural, titled "Unity through Diversity," is a vibrant and thought-provoking work that communicates a powerful message about inclusivity and the beauty of diversity. The mural features an array of whimsical, anthropomorphic flower-like characters, each with distinct shapes, sizes, and expressions, painted in shades of purple and pink. This visual metaphor emphasizes the beauty of differences and how they contribute to the richness of society. The flowers appear to float in a dreamlike garden, symbolizing a diverse and harmonious community.
Steiner’s work addresses socio-political issues such as classism, feminism, and racism, highlighting the dangers of striving for uniformity. Through her mural, she challenges societal tendencies toward exclusion, such as closing borders and rejecting migrants, and instead promotes the idea that our differences are what truly unite us. The title and composition of the mural reflect Steiner’s belief that diversity makes society stronger and more resilient, much like the varied flowers in her artwork.
This mural, with its soft yet striking colors and imaginative figures, adds a dynamic and meaningful layer to the urban space, inviting viewers to reflect on the value of unity through diversity.
On the way to…
Ruin (Austria)
Schoellerhofgasse 7/Manes-Sperber-Park, 1020 Vienna
2024
A beaten and exhausted rider who has reached the end of his strength and perhaps also the A beaten and exhausted rider, at the end of his strength—and perhaps his journey—stands before us. On his long, hard road, he has already lost his identity, symbolized by his undefined flag. His sole purpose now is to find his way back to his community. He is like a lost fish searching for its school, or perhaps, a new one. The fish, floating effortlessly, contrasts with the battered rider and horse—it travels far with ease, just as we do in our minds.
This mural, “On the Way to...”, speaks to those who have been displaced against their will or forced by circumstance to leave their homes and communities. It represents their struggle to find new places of belonging or return to those they've lost. A strong community isn’t something that can be taken for granted—it’s something we must work to build and protect.
Bloodline
Nuno Viegas (Portugal)
Engerthstraße, 1020 Vienna
2024
This piece comes in reaction to a new stage of my life - Parenthood. It celebrate not only parenthood, but also family. As an artist reacting to what of life touches me deeper and moves me the most, my current body of work is focused on a parallel between this new generation to come and the handoff of the graffiti writing legacy. The passage of the unwritten rules and codes that set this game that still runs our cities.
Nuno Viegas, also known as Metis, is a Portuguese artist born in Faro (1985) and raised in Quarteira. Founder of the art collective Policromia Crew, started his artistic journey with graffiti in 1999. After completing his studies in Visual Arts at the University of Algarve he moved to Rotterdam, The Netherlands (2014) where he discovered a new artistic identity and began to develop his paintings strongly influenced by the graffiti scene. This has been the focal point of the artist's production and its greatest source of inspiration.
Sheep
Dante (Georgia)
Perspektivstraße 5, 1020 Vienna
2024
The “Sheep“ mural marks the first in a series of five inspired by Pink Floyd's 1977 album “Animals” which in turn draws from George Orwell's political fable “Animal Farm.” The series has been in development for some time now, reflecting the current climate and the pressing issues we face in the world today. This particular mural conveys the themes of social class and awareness through the symbolism of sheep.
This piece explores the journey of the herd as they initially follow blindly but eventually awaken to their collective strength and capacity for critical thinking, leading to positive social transformations. It emphasizes the importance of education and awareness in combating manipulation and fostering a fairer society.
Moreover, sheep hold increasing significance in Austria, as they play a vital role in preserving green spaces and enhancing biodiversity. Their social nature and cohesion serve as a powerful metaphor for the sense of community among students who learn and grow together in a shared environment. This mural invites viewers to reflect on these themes while appreciating the beauty of art as a catalyst for change.
“Echoes”
Myers Alan & N U L O (Argentina/Uruguay) Nordportalstraße 4, 1020 Vienna

In their collaboration, Myers Alan and N U L O combined their artistic styles to explore the theme of "community." Their mural represents connections and diversity within communities, highlighting the special places where relationships grow.

On this table, one can spot N U L O’s whimsical creatures, each unique in shape and color, representing different community members with their unique traits and contributions. Their playful presence celebrates the richness of diverse but yet connected community.
The table symbolizes intimate spaces where people share not only meals but stories and experiences. This mural captures the essence of such communal spaces — places fostering trust, support, connection, and belonging. Myers Alan and N U L O’s aim is to invite viewers to reflect on the significance of community and the shared spaces that unite us. Their mural serves as a vibrant reminder of the strength and beauty found in a diverse but united community.
Tinta del Rio (Colombia)
Perspektivstrasse 5, 1020 Vienna
2024
The mural reflects the contrast between the fleeting nature of human creations and the enduring strength of nature. Architectural forms, inspired by Latin American styles, seem to dissolve and blend back into a vibrant natural landscape, creating an illusion of unity between the built and organic worlds. Nature emerges as the dominant force, symbolizing its vastness and adaptability in an ever-changing environment, while human elements remain fragile and temporary. The piece explores themes of permanence and fragility, emphasizing the relationship between nature's resilience and humanity's transient presence.
“Human Tower”
Alex Senna (Brasil)
Vorgartenstraße 158/Ennsgasse 16, 1020 Vienna
2024
“Human Tower” shows how, by working together, we can achieve more. It features people of different ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds, representing the diversity in a community. While it celebrates the strength of unity, it also hints at some of the challenges that come with it. The people are climbing and helping each other, showing the importance of support, but also suggesting that building a strong community isn’t always easy. The mural is both a tribute to teamwork and a reminder of the struggles within it.
“Growing Together”
Mina Hamada & Zosen Bandido (Catalonia)
Nordportalstrasse 2,1020 Vienna
2024
This vibrant mural, Growing Together by Mina Hamada and Zosen Bandido, reflects the concept of community through bold colors and playful shapes. Created in collaboration with B-Murals and the Catalonian delegation, it celebrates the idea of neighborhood interactions—smiles, greetings, and face-to-face encounters that foster coexistence and empathy.
Like a tree that grows and changes, a community also evolves, embracing differences while staying rooted in kindness and acceptance. The mural illustrates how each person in the community, like the tree’s leaves, contributes something unique, while the core values, like the tree’s trunk, remain strong and connected.
