Vienna has a new jewel by the water – a breathtaking blend of art, nature, and imagination that promises to become one of the city’s most enchanting public spaces. The Bank Austria Park am Mühlschüttel at the Obere Alte Donau has officially opened, offering Viennese residents and visitors alike a 2.8-hectare oasis of creativity and calm, curated by the legendary artist André Heller.

Art and Nature

Set directly along one of Vienna’s most beloved recreational areas, the new park transforms what was once privately leased land into a freely accessible natural and artistic haven. Over 150 new trees, 22,500 square meters of meadows, and 3,000 square meters of shrubs and perennial gardens now frame a living gallery of 14 magical sculptures, sound installations, and wind pieces by artists from seven countries.

a place of beauty, inspiration, peace, and healing—dedicated to people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life.

For Heller, internationally known for his visionary gardens and large-scale art experiences such as the Anima Garden in Marrakech and the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Tyrol, this marks his first park project in Austria.

A New Symbol of Vienna’s Spirit

With the opening of the Bank Austria Park, Vienna reaffirms its reputation as one of the most livable and culturally vibrant cities in the world. This park captures what the city does best: creating spaces where art, nature, and community come together—free of charge, open to everyone, and full of imagination.
