René Konings (b.1989) is a Norwegian artist who creates pieces reflecting on the process of urban decay. His art finds the beauty in often overlooked textures of the urban environment such as posters, dirt, rust and peeled paint. This use of rediscovered and repurposed objects and materials with exclusively female portraiture and a subtle use of color, symbolizes the beauty found in the harshness of the rapidly changing and deteriorating life of a street corner.

The Coexistence. Fitz Licuado is other half of Colectivo Licuado, an artistic collective originally from Uruguay. Colectivo Licuado’s work focuses on semi-realistic paintings of humans, plants and objects.

250K : the mother. Huariu refers with his work to the current number of 250.000 child soldiers and their disastrous fate. Placing this mural in front of a childrens’ playground shows the harsh dualities of our world.

Danish artist Jacoba Niepoort’s approach to figuration is both deeply personal and elemental. Her bodies appear floating at a huge scale on the walls of public buildings, rendered in fluid brushstrokes of translucent watery paint, or else tangled within a sprawling web of monochromatic lines that evoke the complexity of the human psyche as well as a wider sense of interconnectivity.

Kyros Taghian, born in 1988 in Vienna, is an Austrian artist having his roots in Iran. His perception of art is very likely to be the result of growing up in a melting pot of culture and language.

In the age of 13 he was drawn to graffiti and street art, soon developing a passion and skill for typography and calligraphy.

Just as much as Kyros as a person is not superficially to be put into a box – neither is his work: to categorize his labour into interior design, space branding or cooperative identity would be reducing – his creative flow using geometrical symbols, calligraphy and ornaments is rather one component and ingredient of his artistic melting pot.

What is to be said about his work is the following: Kyros invites his audience to have a glimpse of his playful view on life by breaking stereotypes of form and structure and embedding the subject in unusual surroundings and settings.

Domestication. The Tiroler Bracke is a breed of dog native to Austrian Tirol. This hound, whose prey are mainly foxes, is known for hunting alone. Its natural predatory instinct has been used by humans for their own profit throughout history.

Ambivalenz. Rip Off Crew’s art is about drawing attention - attentive to social movements and grievances in our society. The Rip Off Crew is a collective that has been active since 2018, consisting of Käthe Loeffelmann, Eternalmanila & Linda Steiner. At Studiowalls, their studio, they paint, spray and inspire.

During the course of his artistic explorations, Seth developed his distinct painting style, working often with the theme of childhood. Using the wall as a blank page, Seth relies on one hand the individual or collective imagination – local gods, myths, or tales. The child becomes a spokesperson, a messenger of his investigations. He puts into play his image of innocence, and places his character in difficult social, political and geographical contexts.
